Sloped Window and some photos   Leave a comment

I recently got a question on how to place a window into a wall that has a slope. You can check out the question given and the description i gave here - Question/Comments section.

I hope in the next few days i will be able to do some video tutorial on how to create such a window. In the mean time you can take a look at some photos i took in Aalborg, Nordjylland, Denmark and San Francisco, CA, USA. Not a great quality but still decent photos.

A new colleagues page   Leave a comment

A New “Colleagues” Page

Since i moved in to San Francisco i went through some harsh time till i find a place and because of that i did not have time to record more video tutorials. But finally i have managed to settle down in a really nice place not far away from San Francisco – Walnut Creek. It’s a really peaceful and small town, it’s relaxing to be here and it gives you the opportunity to take a brake.

And since i don’t have enough time to make more videos i decided to create a new page placed on the top (the blue bar) called “Colleagues” which presents some of my colleagues from my school. In this page you will see the links which lead either to their LinkedIn profiles or their custom blog/portfolio webpages. Some of them are currently looking for a company to spend their internship period in, some are already hired, others just graduated from school.

So whoever interested in can take a look at their work and what skills they have.

Linking Information To An Element In Revit   Leave a comment

When you deal with a lot of information and you have created tons of documents like pdf, excel, word files and so on you forget, from time to time,  the location of a file – “now, where in the world have i placed this document”. Browsing for hours might help, maybe it will not. Depends on your nerves….

Another way to easily and fast access a specific file that is relevant to your model elements is to simply link them to each other…. Creating an URL Project Parameter gives you the ability to “connect” a file to a construction element in Revit. Then, when needed, simply select the revit element in question, go to its type/instance (depending on how you created the Pr. Parameter) properties and click on the links you made, this will open the file with the relevant software/program.

If you have any questions simply use the comment box. The comment will not appear immediately because  i need to approve it (i have to watch out for spam which runs wild in the web…..), so simply wait for a while – hours to a day.

Enjoy.
